The Utah1/4 Goldback portrays Justitia, the personification of justice. In her hands, she holds scales and a sword to represent fairness and the defense of truth. A blindfold covers her eyes to show impartiality. Inscribed on her belt is the word "Deseret", the original name proposed for the Beehive State. The scene is set near Balanced Rock in Moab, Utah. Above a bald eagle soars, while the UV layer reveals a rabbit clutched in its talons. Together, these elements reflect the relationship between fairness and authority. Inscribed along the bottom is the enduring principle: "Judge Righteously."
